College Prep Camp

I’ve spent the last four days in Pinecrest, CA at the Lair of the Golden Bear helping rising seniors get a jump start on their college applications. The Lair is one of my favorite places in the whole world, and I might be biased, but I couldn’t imagine a much better environment to both buckle down on my college apps and have a little Lair fun, too. 

We’ve worked on building a balanced college list, brainstorming and writing application essays, crafting the perfect activity list, understanding financial aid, reviewing the application itself, and much more. It is incredible to see how much you can get done in a couple of days when you really put your nose to the grindstone.

The students are incredibly inspiring. One of my favorite parts is getting to know them and their interests, understanding what makes them ‘tick’ and then exploring that through their applications. This has been a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to see where these students end up!
